Why is a Roof Rack Worth it for a Mitsubishi?
It does a job that a full trunk can't (and that Mitsubishi models that shouldn't tow, like Mitsubishi Mirage or Mitsubishi Eclipse, certainly can't): it lets you haul a lot more gear. One that's made of exceptionally durable metals -- steel or aluminum, for instance -- and one that includes crossbars can help distribute cargo weight better and more evenly than a bare roof (for example bikes, a kayak, camping equipment, and so on). One also provides anchor points for tie-downs that bare roofs don't, making securing luggage a snap. Roof racks are even easy to install; all you have to do in most cases is put together some modular towers and feet using a fitting kit. Just be sure to use OEM parts.
