All About Mitsubishi Hoses & Clamps

The hoses in your Mitsubishi circulate fluids in its cooling system. The clamps in it help keep the hoses from leaking or disconnecting. So, if some hose (the radiator hose, for example) cracks, breaks, or wears out, or some clamp (like a worm gear clamp, spring clamp, or T-bolt clamp) breaks, then some cooling system part or another will most likely stop working.

You know what that means: some seriously expensive repairs. You're in some luck; take the best care that you can of the hoses and clamps in your cooling system, and they should last quite a while. Foe one, degrease the engine regularly. Secondly, spray the hoses with protectant every few months. Third, flush and replace any fluids running through the hoses; your owner's manual should have a maintenance schedule with info on when to do that and how often. Fourth, keep an eye on the fasteners on the clamps; they start to go bad, and you'll need to replace them, sooner rather than later.

Most importantly, when it comes time for replacement, choose OEM parts. They'll be genuine Mitsubishi -- top-quality, guaranteed to fit and work right the first time.
