Mitsubishi Radiators FAQ

What are the Signs the Radiator in My Mitsubishi is Failing?

  • Strange engine noises
  • Engine overheats and failures
  • The sweet, syrupy smell of ethylene glycol
  • Radiator fin damage
  • A coolant/antifreeze leak
  • Sludgy coolant

How Do I Replace a Mitsubishi Radiator?

Here's what to do. Grab the following tools:

  • Safety equipment (nitrile and shop gloves, safety glasses)
  • A ratchet/socket and screwdriver set
  • Hose clamp pliers
  • Hose clamps
  • Towels
  • A drain pan
  • A radiator cap
  • Fresh coolant

Obviously, you'll need to hoist your ride, so get a hydraulic floor jack and jack stands. A set of hose picks, although optional, might be helpful, too. Finally, if you need to replace the thermostat in the cooling system at the same time, grab one of those, too. The job should take a couple hours, total; if you need help with it, feel free to get in touch with a Mitsubishi service center.

Most importantly, use OEM parts for the job. They'll be manufacturer-quality, made by Mitsubishi to fit and work right the first time. You're in luck: we stock plenty.
